ALEPH'S Educational and Resource Development Branch

As Jewish Renewal continues to grow and mature, the desire for deeper learning opportunities and spiritual resources is becoming delightfully urgent. The ALEPH Bet Midrash / House of Study now offers a four part program:

A "Mechinah" / Preparatory course of study for those in the process of applying to any of our ordination programs, thinking about applying, or just seeking adult education courses that go beyond those available in local synagogue or communal settings.

Continuing Education courses for Ohalah members and other klei kodesh seeking to combine their seminary learning with their experience to produce a higher level of practice and service.

[For more detailed descriptions of these two programs please visit our Distance Learning page.

Resources Development and the ALEPH ReSources Catalog. During the last decade, the ALEPH Bet Midrash has produced a series of booklets, books, cd's and dvd's of Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi's teachings, which sit at the core of Jewish Renewal's understanding of Judaism as a spiritual practice and of its place in the world. (Go to Reb Zalman to learn more.) Resources in prayer include the Siddur Kol Koreh series and audio recordings of actual services. For a full list of all the resources currently available, please see the News and Updates page and the ReSources Catalog.

Personal Consultations. ALEPH members are encouraged to contact the Bet Midrash director with questions related to any of the three areas above.

The ALEPH Bet Midrash is guided by Rabbi Daniel Siegel, Director of Spiritual Resources. For further information you can contact him at resources@aleph.org.

"I loved that I could have one of the best Talmud teachers via phone right in my living room. One of my classmates was from Arizona, another from California and another from England and here I sat at my dining room having this amazing talmudic discussion. It was liberating, exciting and down right amazing."
