Kallah 2023 Davvenen

Welcome to the application for davvenen leadership for the ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal Kallah, to be held on the campus of West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania, from July 3 – 9, 2023.

All are welcome to apply to lead one or more services throughout the week. Please note that davvenen leaders are not provided with any honorarium or stipend for their work. Kallah is designed as a community created by the members of that community, and we are thankful for all who express a desire to step up and assist in leadership.

Services generally last 45 minutes; or 1 hour for those on Thursday with Torah reading. Morning services are slotted as early as 6:45 am and beginning as late as 8 am. Service leaders MUST adhere to these time limits out of respect for participants who need to eat and get to their classes.

Mincha and Ma’ariv services will be offered at slightly varying times depending on the days’ schedule.

If you’d like to lead more than one service, please fill out the application below SEPARATELY FOR EACH SERVICE.

Please note that we receive many more proposals than slots allow. The Kallah Davvenen Coordinator will attempt to fulfill requests for the day and time you wish to lead, and will confirm before assigning you to a time slot other than what was requested.

This form will be open until 11:59 pm ET on Sunday, April 16. All applicants will be notified of their status on a rolling basis. Whether or not you are selected to lead a service, we encourage you to register for Kallah at www.aleph.org/kallah. It is truly an experience like no other, and one not to be missed!

If you have any questions about services, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Kallah Davvenen Coordinator, Hazzan Devorah Fick, at devorah@bethelwindsor.org. And if you have any questions about Kallah overall, please reach out to Events and Retreats Manager, Stephanie Buncher, at kallah@aleph.org. Looking forward to seeing you in West Chester!
